Time for Herd Immunity

Below is map of the influenza map from the CDC for the week ending Nov 11, 2006. The current map is here. According to their statistics, each year between 5% and 20% of the population gets the flu, and 36,000 Americans die of it. Note that the elderly people at risk of dying from the flu are less likely to catch it if the rest of us get vaccinated.
